China has become the world's fastest growing cruise source

According to the report of the International Federation of Cruise Companies (CLIA), 66 ships were deployed in Asian waters in 2017, 53 percent more than the 2013 cruise ship in 2013, and China has become the world's fastest growing cruise ship source.

2017 Asian cruise development trend report also shows that 68% of Asian cruise passengers from mainland China, about 2.1 million people. The Chinese market grew almost 99 percent in 2016, making it the world's fastest growing main source.

In 2017, the Asian cruise industry is expected to have 10,196 operating days, an increase of 137% over 2013, an increase of 25% over 2016, a net increase of 4.24 million passengers, equivalent to 153 million people in 2013 nearly three times.

"Over the past four years, the Asian cruise market has grown rapidly and we are actively providing valuable information to help the development of this emerging market," said Joel Katz, executive director of the International Cruise Federation.

The 2016 North Asian Economic Impact Study, released by the International Cruise Federation, showed that North Asian cruise tourism contributed directly to the local $ 3.33 billion in direct expenses, $ 1.51 billion in additional goods and services, 23,697 full-time and part-time jobs and 7.545 $ 100 million in salary income. Members of the International Cruise Federation are cruise companies that employ a total of 19,304 local employees in North Asia, including crew or shore-based staff.

Data show that from the cruise ship source, the Asian cruise passengers ranked the top 12 countries or regions are: China, China Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam. There are up to 35 cruise brands operating in Asian waters.
