In general, the inductance in an electronic circuit is an air-core coil, or a coil with a magnetic core, which can withstand a relatively low voltage through a small current; and the power inductor also has an air-core coil and a magnetic core. Structurally speaking, the power inductor and the stacked choke inductor need to optimize the electrode structure so that the internal magnetic field of the product is more uniform, and the magnetic saturation characteristic of the product is improved, that is, the current loaded when the inductance is decreased by a certain range is increased. From the perspective of product application, ordinary ferrite inductors are generally used for resonant filtering of signal lines below tens of MHz. Stacked choke inductors are generally used for turbulence of power lines and isolation between digital analog areas. It is generally used in DC-DC loops to function as energy storage and reduce ripple current. In terms of current, the rated current of the power inductor can reach about 1A, the rated current of the laminated choke inductor is generally tens to hundreds of milliamps, and the rated current of the ordinary ferrite inductor is generally lower than several tens of milliamperes.

The power inductor is an energy storage component used in LC oscillating circuits, low-frequency filter circuits, DC-DC energy conversion, etc., and its application frequency range rarely exceeds 50 MHz. From the impedance frequency curve, when the operating frequency is lower than the resonant frequency, the inductive device exhibits inductivity, and the impedance increases with increasing frequency. When the operating frequency is higher than the resonant frequency, the inductive device exhibits capacitiveness and impedance. Decreased as the frequency increases.

When selecting an inductor for power supply filtering, the inductor with a resonant frequency higher than the operating frequency should be selected, and the following points should be noted. 1 Inductance and capacitance constitute a low-pass filter, the inductance value is a very important parameter. The nominal inductance value of the inductive device data is the value of the operating frequency lower than the resonant frequency. If the operating frequency is higher than the resonant frequency, the inductance value will decrease sharply with the increase of the operating frequency, and the capacitance will gradually appear. 2 Inductance for power supply filtering, you need to consider the voltage drop due to its DC resistance. 3 When used for power supply filtering, the operating current of the inductor must be less than the rated current. If the operating current is greater than the rated current, the inductance may not be damaged, but the inductance may be lower than the nominal value.
