What is a fiber channel?

What is a fiber channel?
The fiber channel is a plastic and iron (painted) wire trough specially prepared for laying soft fiber. It is also called fiber optic cable channel. The material is generally divided into: flame retardant engineering plastic, aluminum alloy, steel Kind. The width is 120mm, 240mm, 300mm, 340mm, 360mm, and the height of 400mm is generally 100mm. Manufacturers can customize the other sizes in large quantities. It is generally used for wiring in indoor computer rooms.


There are two types of fiber channel:
1. Plastic optical fiber channel: Plastic optical fiber channel is a new product developed according to the requirements of high standard computer room construction, absorbing foreign products and combining with China's national conditions. The tank body and fiber outlet and other accessories are made of high quality flame retardant materials, integrity. Good, easy to install, rounded corner protection at the corner to ensure that the fiber bend radius is greater than 40mm; the fiber exit is made of flame retardant plastic, with rounded corner protection, can be moved freely in the tank, convenient for the fiber to be in the right position .
2, aluminum alloy fiber channel: aluminum alloy fiber channel is the environment and place for the use of fiber channel, is a new type of high-standard machine room required fiber channel.
The aluminum alloy fiber channel is divided into two types: one is the fiber channel aluminum alloy side plus bottom; the other is the all aluminum alloy fiber channel.


Features of the fiber channel:
1. Adopting full arc design, the fiber exit port and the corner transition of each of the three-way and four-way corners are R≥40mm, ensuring the curvature radius of the fiber is R≥40mm;

Fiber channel installation method:
1. Distribution frame top mounting method
This installation method is suitable for devices with multiple patch panels juxtaposed or connected to the fiber jumper near the patch panel. Use the mounting holes on the top of the patch panel and the device to secure the channel support bars to effectively connect the channels.
2, wall mounting method
When the fiber jumper needs to travel a long distance, there is no equipment to provide support on the way, and the path of the fiber jumper is relatively close to the wall edge, this installation mode can be selected.
3, ceiling installation
When the fiber jumper needs to travel a long distance, there is no equipment to provide support on the way, and when the path of the fiber jumper is far away from the wall, the expansion screw can be nailed into the ceiling, and the accessory is used to support the channel. This installation method is flexible and not limited by the location of the equipment in the equipment room, but it must be determined that the ceiling is strong enough to withstand the weight of the channel and the fiber jumper.
4, using the rack installation method
When the distribution frame is under the row frame, the row frame can be used to fix the channel support rods to effectively connect the channels.
How to distinguish between ABS fiber channel and PVC fiber channel
There are too many advertisements on the ABS fiber slot on the Internet. In fact, there are very few manufacturers of fiber channel in China. Most of the online reselling companies are less able to produce ABS or PC/ABS fiber slots, due to PVC fiber slots. After a few years, the road will age and become brittle, which will seriously affect the fiber-optic communication security of the equipment room. In order to prevent everyone from being fooled, the following is a simple way to distinguish between ABS fiber slots and PVC fiber slots.
1. PVC scientific name Polyvinyl chloride, containing chlorine element, will release chlorine gas slowly at normal temperature. When the temperature reaches 60 °C or above, a large amount of chlorine gas is released, which is harmful to the human body. The main disadvantage of PVC is that it will age and become brittle after a few years.
PVC can not directly produce fiber channel, PVC must be doped with calcium carbonate to produce fiber channel. The specific gravity of PVC is about 1.33 g/cm 3 , and the specific gravity of PVC mixed with calcium carbonate is 1.6 g/cm 3 or more.
2. ABS is an abbreviation for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer and is a terpolymer composed of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. ABS has excellent comprehensive physical and mechanical properties, excellent low temperature impact resistance and good stability. The specific gravity of ABS is between 1.05 g/cm3 and 1.1 g/cm3.
The alloy of PC/ABS overcomes the shortcomings of PC and ABS raw materials, and promotes the advantages of each other. After blending the two, it improves the heat resistance, toughness, impact strength and flame retardancy of ABS, and improves PC processing. Performance reduces production costs. The specific gravity of the PC/ABS alloy is between 1.1 g/cm 3 and 1.2 g/cm 3 . Because of the toxicity and easy aging and aging characteristics of PVC, China has stipulated in the 1990s that PVC should not be used in tap water pipes equivalent to people's livelihood-related products. Foreign countries are limited to the EU RoHS 2.0 directive and low-smoke and halogen-free requirements. It is basically forbidden to use PVC fiber channel. Domestic operators   

According to the above introduction of ABS, PC/ABS, PVC fiber channel, we can easily distinguish:
1, look at the weight: the same 2.8-3.0mm thickness 240 fiber channel weight of about 4 kg, can be judged as ABS or PC / ABS fiber channel; weight is more than 6 kg is the PVC fiber channel.
2, burning: use a lighter to burn the fiber channel, there is the smell of burning rubber, yellow flame, black smoke, there is obvious melting and boiling phenomenon, after the cooling, the colloid condenses on the tank and is not easy to wipe off by hand, is ABS Or PC/ABS fiber channel; there is a stimulating odor of hydrochloric acid volatilization, a green flame in yellow, and the boiling boiling phenomenon is not obvious. The material that is agglomerated after cooling is easily erased by hand, and is a PVC fiber channel.
3, the best method is to send the detection mechanism to detect, the cost is not high, very accurate judgment of the material.
