Qinghai New Energy's average daily power generation exceeds 100 million kWh for the first time

China News Service, Xining, April 7 (Li Jiangning, Chang Bingyu, Li Yanhe) China National Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company announced on the 7th that in March, the total power generation in Qinghai Province was 7.312 billion kWh, of which hydropower generation was 27.15 Billion kWh, accounting for 37.13%, new energy power generation was 3.225 billion kWh, accounting for 44.11%, an increase of 4.02 percentage points from February (40.09%), and the average daily power generation exceeded 100 million kWh for the first time. Electricity has surpassed hydropower for two consecutive months, becoming the main power source, with the largest proportion of power generation.

According to reports, during the period when new energy power generation became the main power source, Qinghai Power Grid actively promoted the consumption of new energy, actively promoted the market-oriented transaction of shared energy storage, and achieved additional photovoltaic issuance of 4,651,600 kWh. Qinghai is located in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is known as the "Source of Three Rivers" and the "Chinese Water Tower". It has abundant clean energy resources such as water power, wind, and light, and has outstanding advantages in the development of clean energy. In recent years, Qinghai has been vigorously building China's clean energy demonstration province, creating two tens of millions of kilowatt-level renewable energy bases in Qinghai Haixi and Hainan. At present, Qinghai has built a provincial power grid with the highest proportion of clean energy and new energy installed capacity in China.

"In order to meet the demand of Qinghai Power Grid for electricity consumption within the province and Qingyu DC transmission under the new situation, while vigorously developing solar energy resources, it is possible to increase the proportion of installed wind power in new energy sources, and use the complementary characteristics of wind and wind to reduce day and night peaks and valleys. To make up for the power at night, this can better promote the coordinated development of various power sources and power grids.” The relevant personnel said in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency.
