Photovoltaic power generation system can be divided into small, medium and large power generation systems according to the size of the capacity. Different types of power generation systems have differences in their equipment composition, layout, and number of equipment. There will be some differences in system efficiency (or PR).

At present, the system efficiency of large-scale power plants averages about 80% (due to the different quality of power plants, according to relevant records, the first-year system efficiency ranged from 75% to 84%), and the losses were mainly absorbed by photovoltaic arrays, low-voltage and High-voltage cable loss, inverter and transformer equipment losses, etc., while the household photovoltaic power generation system due to fewer equipment, short cable length, in the absence of shadow shelter loss, the system efficiency can be higher than the same ground power station 4 -10%.
