How to "make ripe" domestic CNC system technology

"For a long time, the high-speed, high-precision, multi-axis high-speed CNC machine tools and high-end CNC systems urgently needed by the defense industry have always been important international strategic materials, subject to strict export restrictions in Western countries." Recently, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, National CNC System Chen Jihong, director of the Engineering Technology Research Center, talked with reporters about the development of the domestic high-end CNC system.
In 2009, the state launched a major science and technology project “High-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment” (hereinafter referred to as “04 special project”), which supported domestic CNC system enterprises to upgrade their technical level and overcome sports control technology, platform technology, network technology and intelligence. Key technologies such as chemical technology and other key technologies have broken through the bottleneck of high-end CNC technology and narrowed the gap with foreign countries. Chen Jihong said that the narrowing of the technology gap does not mean the breakthrough of the market. According to statistics, the market share of China's high-end CNC systems is only 7%.
The narrowing of the technology gap does not mean that the technology maturity is shrinking.
As an industrial grade product, there are three main technical indicators for measuring CNC systems: function, performance and reliability. They solve the problem of "useful", "easy to use" and "durable". With the support of the National 04 special project, Huazhong Numerical Control has developed a self-controllable high-end CNC system represented by the Huazhong 8 model on the basis of previous generations of technical research.
In order to scientifically evaluate the actual level, the 04 special project commissioned a third party to test the newly developed domestic high-end CNC system products. The third-party evaluation results show that for the 1989 benchmark evaluation of functional testing, the domestic high-end CNC system has reached 98%; after two years of reliability testing, the reliability of the domestic CNC system is comparable to that of foreign products. The gap in the domestic CNC system is not enough technology maturity. It is not difficult to develop several high-end CNC systems to complete various test verifications in the laboratory and in actual production. It is difficult to realize long-term production and application of a large number of domestic CNC systems. A CNC system does not cause problems. It does not mean that there is no problem in batches. If there is no problem in one year, it does not mean that there is no problem in ten years. Breakthroughs at various points do not represent breakthroughs on the surface. Therefore, the main reason for the current high-end CNC system neck is the maturity of the technology. Chen Jihong believes: "The technological advancement of domestic high-end CNC systems has narrowed the gap with foreign countries. However, the narrowing of the technology gap does not mean the reduction of technology maturity."
Without market testing, there is no opportunity for technical iteration
The goal of developing a domestic CNC system is to achieve industrialization. The key point to realize industrialization is that the domestic high-end CNC system will improve the technology maturity as soon as possible, and the improvement of technology maturity must be completed in the process of industrialization.
Foreign companies represented by Japan FANUC and Siemens Germany have developed in the field of numerical control systems for nearly 60 years and accumulated a large number of advanced technologies. They have established technical barriers and market advantages on a global scale. In the Chinese market, these foreign companies have also worked hard for more than 40 years. With the advantages of products in terms of technology and performance, it has already had a good market brand and customer reputation, forming a “market ecosystem”.
In fact, the early technical maturity of foreign high-end CNC systems is not too high. However, due to a large number of high-end users represented by China's military industrial enterprises, large-scale, long-term bulk production and application, to help foreign CNC systems to carry out comprehensive test verification and long-term application assessment, for the foreign high-end CNC system found, feedback a large number of The problem has only led to the continuous improvement of the technical maturity of foreign high-end CNC systems.
"Good products are used. Only when they are used in large quantities in the market, if problems are found in the application, the opportunities for technological iteration and improvement can be obtained, and the technology maturity can be continuously improved. Only the large-scale market application and the production cost of the products can be realized. In order to reduce, the market competitiveness of products can be further improved, and the R&D investment in the early stage can be recovered, so that enterprises can form a virtuous circle with self-healing ability.” Chen Jihong said.
Should focus on care and actively support domestic CNC systems
The research and development of CNC system technology is difficult and the investment is high. It is more difficult to break the foreign “market ecosystem” and realize industrialization. This requires strong resources to support and requires huge investment, which is far beyond the affordability of a company.
Chen Jihong said: "Like the large aircraft industry, the CNC system industry is not only a strategic and basic core technology industry, but also a market that is fully competitive. For such a strategic and basic industry, the country should not follow the general market competition. Sex industry to treat."
Chen Jihong also said that we should be confident in creating a favorable market environment for domestic CNC systems, not specifying foreign CNC systems in government procurement tenders, and gaining opportunities for participating in equal competition for domestic CNC systems, encouraging users to be equally cost-effective.
