Time to delve into the technology. However, the rapid development of new energy has left everyone unprepared, so the so-called "oil-to-electricity" model has been produced.

As the name implies, the "oil-to-electricity" model is a new energy vehicle product that has been modified on the original fuel-vehicle products, removing parts such as engines, gearboxes, and mailboxes, and adding electric drive modules. For traditional manufacturers, "oil to electricity" is indeed a very easy way to do so, as long as the original mature products are transformed, it can save a lot of time and billions of research and development costs. This practice can be understood. After all, the rapid production of new energy products is to catch up with the subsidies and meet the "double points" policy to avoid being fined. The models produced by the pure electric platform are developed, designed and tuned according to the characteristics of the electric vehicles at the beginning of the project. Therefore, regardless of the space utilization rate, the handling and safety are better than the "oil-to-electric" models. Although the methods of "oil-to-electricity" vary from car companies to enterprises, in the final analysis, they do not fully exert the advantages that motorized systems should have, and they do not add any added value of technology, which is essentially different from the purely developed platform of special research and development.

We know that the battery life of an electric car depends mainly on battery capacity and energy efficiency. The battery capacity depends on the energy density and the number of batteries. This is also the main direction for the power battery company to upgrade. However, if the energy density is difficult to change, the battery quantity will determine the battery capacity. The products of the fuel car platform do not have space reserved for the battery inside, which is equivalent to a battery that is strongly inserted. In order to increase the new electric structure, the steel used in the whole vehicle will increase, the weight of the vehicle will increase, and the power consumption speed will be accelerated. Of course, the problem with the structure of the car body is not only the lack of endurance, but also the space in the car and the space reserved for high-power motors. Moreover, the lower mechanical integration of the oil-to-electricity model is equivalent to dismantling a team that originally had a cooperative understanding, forcing a new one, and the overall performance will also decline.

In fact, the biggest difference between the "oil-to-electricity" model and the electric vehicle platform model is safety. We know that the most important part of electric vehicles is PACK (battery pack), which is the integrated body of bulk batteries. It has a lot of weight and volume. Most of the battery packs of oil-changing models are placed on the chassis and even exposed. It is easy to cause the ground to smash, and the fuel car structure also lacks components specifically for battery protection, which is actually likely to cause a short circuit.

In general, although the shortcomings of the "oil-to-electricity" model can be compensated as much as possible, it is not a long-term solution. "Curving overtaking" is not desirable. I still hope that when we visit the auto show in the future, we can discuss more about the new technology of a car company than the things that float on the surface.
