Perspective of the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show: the rise of domestic brands of independent brands, new energy vehicles intensified melee

       On August 29, the 24th Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "Chengdu Auto Show") opened. As one of the four major A-class auto shows in China, even though it was postponed for two days, it did not diminish enthusiasm.    At this year's Chengdu Auto Show, some star models have attracted a lot of attention.    2021 Chengdu Auto Show, independent brands represented by Great Wall, Changan, Chery, BYD, Geely, etc., attracted great attention from consumers, and the booth was crowded with people, reflecting the overall upward trend of China's independent brands.
   Looking at the flow of people in front of the booths of the entire auto show, the Great Wall booth can be said to have earned a lot of popularity. At this exhibition, Great Wall Motors brought its five major vehicle brands, Haval, Tank, Wei, Euler and Great Wall Pickup, and twelve new models to their debut.    It is worth mentioning that the tank brand, which was officially established at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, is once again full of fire at the Chengdu Auto Show. With the global debut of the Tank 400 and Tank 500 at the Chengdu Auto Show, in just over 4 months, the tank brand once again brought a blockbuster to subvert user perception, leading Chinese car brands to continue to break through and advance, and make the outside world feel more about China’s high-end luxury. At this Chengdu Auto Show, Changan’s first UNI sedan, UNI-V, was officially unveiled. The new car continues the family’s borderless design concept, incorporating an exaggerated grille, huge air intakes, and three-point LED daytime driving on the front face.    On August 29, Chery Kunpeng Hybrid's first model, Tiggo 8 PLUS Kunpeng e+, officially debuted at the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show, completing the world's first world premiere of the first model under the Kunpeng hybrid architecture. At Chery Automobile's 2021 Chengdu International Auto Show press conference, Tiggo 7 series flagship product Tiggo 7 PLUS also made its debut.    At the same time, as the first independent brand of Jietu Motors to appear in the four major domestic A-class auto shows, this time it will bring its blockbuster products such as Jietu X90 PLUS and Jietu X70 Zhuge Edition to make a strong debut. Kaiyi Automobile brought many of its star models to the Chengdu Auto Show and ushered in the world premiere of Xuandu, the brand's first A-class sedan. Chery QQ ice cream, the first product of Chery's QQ series, also appeared at the Chengdu Auto Show.   On the first day of the opening of the Chengdu Auto Show, BYD Dolphin, the "new pure electric species", was officially launched. On the same day, BYD brought DiLink 4.0 (5G) and the "5G Dynaudio Smart Music Cockpit" upgrade package created for the flagship model of the Han EV four-wheel drive high-performance version to the auto show.
   Another major independent brand Geely Automobile released a new design style-"Energy Storm" at the Chengdu Auto Show, and debuted the first SUV based on the "Energy Storm" new design style-Boyue X. According to the plan, the first Emgrand L sedan with the "energy storm" design style will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. Lynk & Co's second domestically produced high-performance model Lynk & Co 05+ also made its debut at this Chengdu Auto Show. Lynk & Co 05+, which is positioned as the "Chinese performance SUV", has made up for the gap in the 300,000-class performance SUV, and is expected to be officially launched within this year.
 
   Joint venture brand introduces new and reshapes the MPV market pattern
   At this year's Chengdu Auto Show, independent brands are relatively active, and joint venture brands have collectively created new ones.
   Although it is not as popular as its own brands, there are also some popular models of joint venture brands that have attracted much attention. During the Chengdu Auto Show, GAC Toyota’s first domestically produced mid-to-large MPV, Sina SIENNA, was officially unveiled; the Jetta VS7 Heifeng Pro endorsed by Huang Bo remained strong in the traditional market; SAIC Volkswagen ID.3 came from behind in electric vehicles, and it is not a small one. watch for.
   With the changes in domestic childbirth policies, MPV models that allow the whole family to travel comfortably have attracted more and more attention from consumers. Sina SIENNA, known as the veritable "Toyota Global Flagship MPV", finally ushered in a domestic version, officially entering the Chinese large and medium-sized MPV market.
After the introduction of SIENNA, it will also form the GAC Toyota TNGA "three flagship" lineup together with Camry and Highlander, becoming the flagship models of each of the three major market segments of medium and large MPV, medium and high-end sedan, and large seven-seat SUV. Build a more solid product capability for GAC Toyota.
   No unique coincidence. In addition to SIENNA's precise efforts to the Chinese MPV market, the two models of Kia Ka Wah and Hyundai Kustu have also been deployed separately, which are expected to rewrite the Chinese MPV market together.
   As the first global flagship MPV after the renewal of Dongfeng Yueda Kia brand, the fourth-generation Jiahua officially opened pre-sale at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 29, with a pre-sale price of 288,900 yuan to 339,900 yuan. The new car adopts the latest family design, provides 1.5T and 2.0T power configurations, and is expected to be officially launched in September this year. As Beijing Hyundai's first MPV product tailored for Chinese consumers, Kusitu came to the family with a clear-cut stand, and firmly marked the product label of "Home MPV Popularizer".
   In addition to the three MPV legions mentioned above, many mainstream joint venture brands have successively launched blockbuster models. As the third car launched by SAIC Volkswagen this year, the pure electric car ID.3 unveiled its mystery at the Chengdu Auto Show.   New energy vehicles are still popular, new and old car companies are working together
   At the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show, new energy vehicles have become the main force among the exhibited models. Many new energy vehicle manufacturers and new energy vehicles under the traditional auto companies have gathered on a large scale, and the competition has intensified.
   Luxury brands collectively increase their electrification, and many auto companies turn to new energy sources. Among them, BMW has brought the new BMW iX3, the new BMW X4, the new BMW X4 M, the new generation of BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, the new BMW M4 convertible version and other models around the "i, M, BMW".    On the one hand, the traditional car companies are making great efforts to deploy new energy vehicles, and on the other hand, they are new car-making forces represented by Gaohe, Zhiji, Nezha, R Auto, Hechuang, and Zero Run, etc., and high-profile new products are launched. The "booth base" of the new car-making force in Hall 10 was overcrowded on the first day of the opening of the car show.
